Rapper Nelly debuts custom high-heeled Air Jordans for ‘DWTS’

“Dancing with the Stars” has been on the air for 29 seasons, but this is the first time that a contestant has debuted custom sneakers to dance the salsa.

Nelly and his partner Daniella Karagach performed to his hit song “Ride with Me,” but Nelly’s shoes stole the show.

Nelly debuted a customized pair of black and red Air Jordan 3’s with a dancer’s heel embedded into the sole of the shoe.

The St. Louis native was excited to share his love for his city and his sneaker collection during the voting process.

“The hood is on fire,” he said. “St. Louis right now, the hood is on fire!”

Nelly walked away 16 out of 30 points which took him into the next round.
