You know once you get a taste of Houston, it’s hard to let go. Former Rockets player James Harden is proving that, announcing that he is hosting a star-studded weekend fun event. “JH-Town Weekend” will begin Friday, Aug. 27 and end on Sunday, Aug. 29. The celebrity line-up includes Travis Scott, DJ Chase B, Lil Baby and a few popular Instagram models. On the schedule, there is a private dinner honoring Black-owned businesses on Friday, a charity concert on Saturday, and a celebrity softball game on Sunday. The proceeds will help benefit Harden’s “3 The Harden Way Foundation, “which offers scholarships and internship opportunities for students facing economic adversity. Attention all Garth Brooks fans… The country star is canceling his remaining stadium tour dates due to rising COVID-19 cases. Brooks released a statement Wednesday saying that, in July, he sincerely thought the pandemic was falling behind us…. but now…watching this new wave, he realizes we are still in the fight and he feels he must do his part. Brooks, one of the biggest selling entertainers in music, says he is hopeful that he can resume touring before the end of the year. Tickets will be refunded for all canceled shows.
