The Dawn of Destiny: TSU students of the Fall Class of 2025 Transition into Alumni Status

Houston, TX December 5, 2025- In the early morning hours of December 5, Texas Southern University (TSU) graduated its Fall class of 2025. Members of the graduating class approached the stage as students, crossing over to become alumni of their now alma mater, TSU.

TSU recognized the accomplishments of undergraduates, graduate students, and those earning a doctoral degree. For doctoral graduate Larry Thomas, “[TSU has] taught [him] a lot of lessons, I think the main one is to stay persistent and consistent, never giving up, follow your goals, and you will be surprised how you will achieve your goals.”

Graduates and their families filled H&PE Arena, overflowing the space with Black Excellence in Achievement. In true HBCU fashion, the Fall 2025 graduation brought together families, friends, and supporters to celebrate the graduates’ journeys. “It’s the best in the world. An HBCU. It’s the only way; it’s the best way. The only way you could go. I love it, wouldn’t have it any other way,” Three-time TSU graduate Romeo Brown said.

TSU is not only responsible for the academic excellence of its students, but also for transforming lives outside of the classroom. “I think I’ve definitely had a lot of character development and growth as a person while here. I’ve matured a lot while being here, and that’s going to help set me up,” TSU graduate Cynthia Pipkin said.

“It’s special. Represents Black excellence. I love my Black excellence. Black people, everything,” Brown added.

As they walked across the stage and shifted their tassels from right to left, this moment in time captured a turning point of promise, ushering the graduates into the next chapter of their lives.
