Houston stand up! If it wasn’t enough for Houston natives Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion to collaborate on the hottest song of 2021, our favorite H-town hotties just won a collaborative Grammy. The “Queen B” and “Hot Girl Meg” took home the award for “Best Rap Song” for the “Savage Remix” at the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards. Meg and Bey also took home the Grammy for “Best Rap Performance,” making it the first time that two women ever won in that category. Later in the evening, Meg was named “Best New Artist” and Bey took home two additional Grammys for her hit song with her daughter Blue Ivy for “Brown Skin Girl.” Grammy host Trevor Noah surprised Beyonce after her win, announcing that she had broken the record for most female Grammy wins and was now tied with Quincy Jones for most wins by any artist. After a year of COVID and the hellacious winter storm, Houston could definitely use a win like this! Congratulations!
Cardi B is fed up with the social media trolls and has one thing to say to the haters! DELETE! That’s right, the “Up” rapper deleted her Twitter page after receiving major backlash over releasing a doll in her likeness. Cardi posted the photo of the doll on her page and explained why she decided to get into the business. “Growing up, I ain’t never seen a doll that looked like me, I’ve never seen a doll that really represents me,” she said. “When you’d go to the doll aisle when you was my age, it’s either like there’s a real white one, there’s a real dark one, and there’s like barely one that’s like in the middle. None of them have my style, none of them have my flavor, and it’s like I want a doll that represents me.” The Grammy winning rapper’s fans were not too pleased and begin to attack her about putting out products and not new music. One fan wrote “ like we get it sis. ur a business woman who finds multiple ways to the bag & thats cool !!! but dont come on here like i got a surprise for yall !! and it be a doll.” Cardi was quick to attack back and give a piece of her mind. “Yo, I really hate when people start acting like brats and start really pissing me off. I don’t like that s**t,” she said in a Twitter voice note. “I wanna make it very clear. After I dropped I said, ‘I’m gonna take my time. I gotta finish my album.’ If I say I’m gonna finish my album, it doesn’t mean that I’m gonna drop in March, it doesn’t mean that I’m gonna drop in April. Let me do this f**king s**t because everybody expect me to f**king fail, so when I drop my album, I want it to be immaculate with everything great.” Following her response, the messages only got worse and Cardi decided it was best for everyone if she deactivated her account. Cardi has not said when she will be back on Twitter, but we are guessing it will probably be when she’s ready to release a new debut single.
The sports community and fans across the world are sending prayers of healing to golf icon Eldrick “Tiger” Woods who was seriously injured in a rollover crash Tuesday. During a news conference, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Gonzalez said he was among the first to arrive at the scene, and it was obvious that Tiger was badly injured. “I focused on keeping him calm until paramedics arrived,” Gonzalez shared. Deputies confirmed that if Woods would have not had on a seat belt, the accident could have turned fatal. Woods was in the area for his annual Genesis Invitational Golf Tournament, which was held Sunday. The 45-year-old was on his way to do a media project when the crash occurred. “Tiger has a long-term partnership with Discovery developing exclusive content for GOLFTV and Golf Digest. He was filming his latest series with us yesterday, which will see him giving on-course instruction to a number of celebrities, including Jada Pinkett Smith, Dwayne Wade and David Spade. He was due to continue filming with us today,” the company released in a statement. Woods was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, where he underwent surgery for multiple leg injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Megan Thee Stallion is standing by her new man, rapper Pardi Fontaine, who fans thought was not treating her right. In a recently posted video, a man – who has since been identified as Pardi – can be heard in the background yelling at Meg’s friends and demanding to see her. The man’s voice can be heard saying “I will come through this door if you don’t open it.” The video, which was streaming live at the time of the incident, quickly made its rounds on social media and left fans concerned for Meg’s safety. Hottie fans are very protective of Meg, especially after her rapper Torey Lanez reportedly shot her in the foot in November 2020. After the backlash, Meg posted video on social media, explaining that it was Pardi who was heard in the video but it was nothing to be alarmed about, and she also confirmed their romance. “I didn’t like what they was trying to say about Pardi. ‘Cause he is so calm and so sweet. And very, you know. That’s my boo. And I really like him!” she said. Megan and her laggy internet said Pardi is her boo, stop playing with him, he wouldn’t hurt a fly pic.twitter.com/oeYMpPMmVP — GlockTopickz (@Glock_Topickz) February 19, 2021 Following her video, the “Body” rapper took to Twitter on her birthday to share that Pardi was still mad at her but, keeping to her Houston roots, she joked that as long as Beyonce loved her, that’s all that mattered. “I’m healthy, I can take care of myself, my friends & family love me, my boo love me (he mad at me right now but he still love me) shiddd Beyoncé love me , I’m just happy and blessed lol,” she posted. I’m healthy, I can take care of myself, my friends & family love me , my boo love me (he mad at me rn but he still love me) shiddd Beyoncé love me , I’m just happy and blessed lol — TINA SNOW (@theestallion) February 16, 2021 So who exactly is this new boo? Well, Pardison Fontaine is a ghost writer for Cardi B., and is also behind Kanye West’s “Violent Crimes” (2018) and Ed Sheeran’s “South of the Border” (2019). In 2018, though, Fontaine began to build a reputation for himself (under his own name) with his album, UNDER8ED. Oh, one more thing, his real name is Jordyn Kyle Lanier Thorpe, he’s 31 years old and from Newburgh, New York. We wish nothing but happiness for Meg and her new boo, and hope they can make it work!
Bobby Shmurda fans are celebrating the rapper’s release from prison. Shmurda and his labelmate Rowdy Rebel, along with some of their fellow GS9 affiliates, were initially arrested back in 2014 for running a vicious street gang, conspiracy to murder, drugs and weapon possession. Shmurda, whose birth name is Ackquille Pollard, and Rebel, whose name is Chad Marshall, eventually took plea deals in 2016. Both men were sentenced to seven years. Shmurda and Rebel were both up for parole in 2019, but Shmurda was denied his freedom after his girlfriend allegedly tried to sneak him a shiv into Rikers Island. Rebel exited early in December 2020. Shmurda’s mom, Leslie Pollard, confirmed that he will be released on Tuesday. Shmurda’s mom has also confirmed that there is already new music on the way, and fans are already taking to social media to welcome the “Shmoney Dance” rapper home. In an interview with Billboard, Migos member “Quavo” said he’ll be picking up Shmurda from prison. “I’m going to get my guy,” Quavo said. “I’m personally gonna go pick up Bobby Shmurda. I’m bout to go get him. I’m gonna let him show you how I’m gonna pick him up, yessir.”
Rapper and “Love and Hip Hop Miami” star “Trick Daddy” will not be going to jail, thanks to a deal that was negotiated by his lawyer. The Miami native was arrested back in January 2019 and charged with driving under the influence and possession of cocaine. Bodycam footage appeared to show officers dumping cocaine out of a dollar bill on the hood of Trick’s car. The testing came back only showing trace amounts of the illegal substance and Trick’s charges were downgraded to a level three felony. His attorney, Harris Gilbert, confirmed the plea deal to TMZ, saying, “As part of the plea he was also able to give back to the community he loves so much with a donation to Camillus House homeless shelter.” We hope Trick gets all the help he needs to stay healthy. His family and fans love him. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol or substance abuse, please reach out to your nearest rehab facility.
YFN Lucci has been released after a month-long stay behind bars on murder charges that stem from the shooting death of 28-year-old James Adams and the injury of another man in southeast Atlanta. Lucci posted a $500,000 bond on Monday, and has been ordered to surrender his passport and wear an ankle monitor. He also has a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew. The “Everyday We Lit” rapper will only be allowed to leave his home to meet up with his lawyers to discuss his case, take care of medical appointments and see his kids. There are a variety of conditions which is somewhat consistent with these cases, which included surrendering his passport.” Even though the judge has also ordered Lucci to stay off social media, his friends make sure to keep his fans updated, including posting video of him being release from jail. https://twitter.com/Glock_Topickz/status/1358904937892241412
