The name “Scarface” has become synonymous with helping to put Houston on the map in pop culture, and respectfully, the game would not be the same without him.

That’s why it’s hard to believe that the legendary rapper is reaching out to his legion of fans in hopes of receiving a kidney.

“I need a kidney y’all any volunteers?” Face asked on Twitter.

The Geto Boys founding member revealed during an interview with rapper Willie D that his battle with COVID-19 has forced him to be placed on dialysis.

“I fought COVID double bilateral pneumonia—both lungs—and kidney failure in my house,” he shared. “I went back to the hospital. I just got out of the hospital [on April 20] … I gotta change my entire diet, I gotta do dialysis four days a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body.”

Hip-Hip fans responded almost immediately with volunteers offering to be a donor and sharing their love and support for the legend.

“I’m B Pos I got you for real. It would be returning the favor. Your music speaks to me more than any artist ever. Learned how to manage depression openly cause of you,” one fan said.

Scarface told a reporter during a recent interview that despite everything, he is grateful.

“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” he continued. “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back … I’m still a little weak. I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But I am glad to be alive.”
